JPG

Photos & smaller files

A practical choice for photos and sharing. Lower quality usually makes smaller files. JPG does not support transparency.

PNG

Sharp edges & transparency

Use PNG for screenshots, diagrams and transparent images. It preserves the decoded pixels, but often produces larger files than JPG.

WebP

Images for the web

WebP supports transparency and adjustable quality. Check that the app or website receiving the file accepts WebP.

How do I make an image smaller?

Choose JPG or WebP, reduce quality, or set a smaller maximum size. Compare the actual result below before downloading. A different format does not always mean a smaller file.

What happens to transparency and metadata?

PNG and WebP can keep transparent pixels. JPG uses a white background. Files are re-encoded; original EXIF, GPS and camera metadata are not intentionally copied. This is not a complete anonymization tool.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Conversion runs in your browser using its image decoder and encoder. Cloudflare Web Analytics measures basic website visits and performance. Your selected image files are not sent to analytics or uploaded to a server. This tool has no advertising scripts.

What are the limits?

Choose up to 20 static JPG, PNG or WebP images, at most 25 MB each and 40 megapixels each. Maximum supported edge: 8192 pixels. Animated PNG/WebP, GIF, HEIC, SVG and RAW files are not supported. Results may vary with browser encoding and color handling; keep your originals for professional print work.
